Question: Does the USCA Board of Directors have a mechanism in place to annually evaluate the decisions and performance of the HPP Director and his staff?

Performance evaluations are pretty standard in business. The USCA is a business, right?

Some info on staff evaluations can be found in last years USCA meeting minutes. You can find many other good facts about what the USCA is up to in them.

Also, where did you reference your statements on who was accepted/rejected from the HPP? I don't recall ever seeing any publication of the assessment results.

Thanks for the link. While it was informative and I read reference to "accountability and evaluation" and a rather informal method of accomplishing it, I never saw any reported information results about HP staff performance other than the place that teams finished at events. Or any "system" for doing this annually or reporting it to the BOD.

My reference was the reported list of athletes invited to the tryout. I assumed (and forgive me if that was an inaccurate assumption) that if they weren't one of the players I know to be in the HP Program, then they must have been rejected (I apologize if "rejected" is the wrong word to use.)

(Tuck, I know this should be in the HPP thread, but I don't know how to move it. )

Tuck, there are grandparents on both sides of the family (Tom Tetley skipped Brier winners in 1957 and 71-he won the second time-had a fellow named Lang at vice).

You have to let parents & kids make their own choices and hope that someday...

BILL Tetley skipped Brier entries in 1957 and 1971, and won the Brier in 1975 with Rick Lang playing 2nd.
