You are half right: PEI beat NS. But the Yukon is still alive.

All three teams finished the round-robin tied at 1-1.

NS had the worst DTB total (by about 2 cm) so they are eliminated.

Yukon and PEI will play tomorrow afternoon for the 12th spot in the main event.

But first all three teams of these teams are being snubbed at the opening banquet.

At the STOH next year it may well be BC eliminated and Yukon and NWT playing for the 12th spot in the draw.

In the relatively near future, it will be Ontario eliminated from the Brier draw, and Yukon and NWT playing for the 12th spot in the draw.

When (as will happen sooner rather than later) the big powerful provinces of Ontario, Alberta, and BC are knocked out of the main draw by prequalifying, you'll see things change in a big hurry then.
