you really have to feel for heather and the team. what a rough day. losing a game that they controlled for most of it and then having to play for a medal they should have had already.
seriously..she beat BC 2/3 times they played and she's the one leaving with nothing?

My picks this weekend have been dreadful so I am going to avoid jinxing anyone by another prediction but I will say my druthers are that Canada be represented at the World's with a new set of faces.
But if it's Jenn once again it will be because she did what she had to - win the last game.

Some teams take it more seriously than others, and realistically in this year's scotties, the quarter final (3v4 game) loser won bronze, while the semifinal loser won nothing. It doesn't really make much sense.
Ah well, apart from that, I'm not sure why Nedohin played her last shot the way she did.... It was thin on the in-turn, but it was pretty ridiculous on the out turn. I think she made her last shot tougher than she needed to....
OK tell me what the difference is between hitting that in-turn and outturn - will you get a different trajectory with one turn vs the other? how much difference would it make?

It's like that almost everywhere. But for what it's worth, I know some teams (Glen Howard comes to mind) have lobbied for the 1st place team to get hammer throughout the page. There is some merit to the argument as a reward for winning the round robin.

I hope Jen can come back. But if she doesn't that is ok too. I am sure after the year she has had, if she loses she will not be as disappointed as she would be other years.
She had knee surgery, a baby, she already has a spot in the Winnipeg trials. She has had a fantastic year.

Should be banned or front stones cant be touched until X # of rocks are played. Curling needs rocks in play!!
And yes if Jones was playing the tick in the 1st end i'd be saying the same thing.

rachel isnt that type of curler. she wont go all defensive at this stage of the game. She really likes hammer in even ends though to have that small sense of control.
