2015 World Women's Champion

Seeing as the other thread is locked, I figured I would start a new one here.

I finally had some time to review some of the stats of the Women's Championship. Specifically regarding the new champion Alina Paetz as I had seen her name at a few events but wouldn't have considered her a favourite, let alone a team capable of beating Team Canada 3 times.

So a little digging on the site, and some interesting figures jump out. http://www.curlingzone.com/player.p...119&view=Events

For the first half of the 2014/2015 season and all events prior to that, they did not win anything. Beginning with the Red Deer Curling Classic, they have now won their last 5 events. Talk about the power of confidence.

So going into the Players Championship, they have won 42 of their last 44 games played! Wow!

I am guessing now that many of us are well aware of Team Paetz.

I believe Jill came to this site a few years ago and claimed that many of the comments were nasty. I think in a digital age it goes with the territory for athletes. Sure, go after those where there is real defamation but for the most part the best policy is to ignore the jackasses who do nothing but insult.

Nothing. The thread is called "2015 World Women's Champion" and the women's world championships are the focus of the news story. This is a logical place to post it.
