I think your elite curlers are going to be around for a while.

Curling where I live is suffering a very slow death. Each year the clubs lose more members and have more free ice. The other thing that is happening is every year there is less and less affiliated clubs. I know our Provincial curling association wants to implement a $10.00 affiliation fee to each curler. There is talk at our club and others around to drop our affiliation. Why should 1000 curlers pay 10 dollars each so a hand full of curlers can compete in sanctioned events.

Anyways, Team Canada is doing great. It can't be easy to be on the team right now with 2 guys getting the boot and one leaving on his own, then you add the ice conditions.

Keep going guys

Angry Men's World Championship

Stayed up to watch the Canada vs U.S. game on curlingzone and found out it is not available in Canada. How disappointing!

I have no idea why the game would be geo-blocked when TSN isn't showing it, OR why TSN isn't picking up the feed since it's available and the crew is there!

Norway recovers from a loss to Germany with a big win over Canada. Right now Kevin , because of his losses and a way better than expected performance from japan sits in 3rd place.

Tough day against Sweden and Switzerland tomorrow.

DeCruz

If I wasn't impressed with this young swiss team before I am now. First world championship and after 7 games they are 5-2. If not for a pick in the 10th against Scotland they'd be 6-1..i just hope that doesn't come back to be the loss that costs them

Apparently one of them will be leaving for the US next season. Hopefully the other 3 stick together because they've got an amazing future for sure

Kevin makes a great double in second , oscar makes a double and roll .... Not a smile from any of the eight curlers .. They arent having any fun .. Only smile is crosby in the faceoff commercial.

No wonder i retired from the sport 35 years ago...

Good that they are staying off the carpets ... Pretty much of a no brainer. ... Not just the fibre but the camera men could be bringing in dirt too

About 2 more points for sweden and Canada will have to start gambling. Ugh

I think the only difference here is in the skips. Oskar is playing great and kevin is making the little mistakes to allow oskar to make the save

Can't remember the last time Canada got murdered by both Sweden and Norway in round-robin? Perhaps Jack McDuff (76)?

the only thing in kevin's favor is that he has by far the easier schedule to finish with Scotland and Germany.

japan could very well end up 7-4 with games against Sweden and china to come.

Koe and company just look like an ordinary club team out there.

Wow maybe the breakup is affecting them more than we think.

OK now let's not get carried away. Ordinary club team. Yeesh. Yeah, me and my team would easily be in the playoffs at World's - we're club champs after all!

Koe still favourite to win this tournament IMO. Until they're eliminated, they're the favourite.

The world teams pump themselves up when they play Canada. Any skill at all, and they have one of there best games of the tourney, Canada is in trouble.
Watching the games that I have, Canada is missing by hairs. Curling good enough to win most, but not good enough to beat skips that are shooting lights out.
Some of the games I've watched, Canada has trouble getting an end built up. partly because Rycroft is having trouble. Partly cuz of mis-matched rocks which then gets you thinking too much.
We'll make the playoffs, and that's when this team will shine.

I see a team Canada that, knowing their skip has dumped them, is mostly just going through the motions. I wouldn't be putting 100% in for Koe either. You just win your country and a free trip back to the Brier and your skip tosses you and all of that away like an unwanted toy.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the other three are enjoying themselves off ice more than they normal, I would.

Of course, this wouldn't have happened had Koe shown class, zipped his lip and waited until after the worlds to tank his team.

I will agree with some here that Koe in particular doesn't seem like himself here. Im not sure what it is..maybe it is hard for him to focus, I don't know.

However some of the calls he's been making and in particular today have been very odd. These are calls im sure he'd shy away from making most of the time. In the 2nd end today he wanted more than 1 against Sweden and he maybe should have gotten more than one but oskar made a great save and I think it would have been better to just take the one.

The risks he took on some shots today weren't worth it and, again are shots he normally would never call

I wonder whats up with him. You know he wants to win so there's no way he's just going through the motions but I don't think he is 100% there. Or maybe , because he knows this is the last event ever with this team he wants to go out with a bang and its clouding his judgement.

the thing is im sure that the change has been known about for wuite some time. They knew at the brier and won the whole thing
