Bill Fowler

I'm sure some of you will remember Bill Fowler of Quesnel who was quite a successful curler in the '70's and seemed to know everyone who ever competed at any interior event. I was lucky enough to curl with Bill a couple of years and the contacts and genuine liking he had for all curlers and his love of the game were remarkable. I'm sorry to say that he passed away a couple of days ago and will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear that Alex. I curled with him in a competition or two and against him in others and he was in the top calibre in those days.

His peel weight shots never touched the ice until about 30 feet over the hogline.

Is there any kind of a do at the club for him?

There was a celebration of life at the Legion on Tuesday. It was mostly a chance to sit around and talk to others about memories of Bill. Curlers were well represented as well as many hockey players and community people as Bill had lived here since he was 3. It was well done and well attended.
