Jenkins own the podium sweeping study

Prior to the 2010 Olympics there was a research study on sweeping techniques. I know there were summary media points on the effectiveness of various sweeping styles and brush heads etc. , but, does anyone know if that study was published and is available for review?

Thanks for the links Marc, I had already seen those articles before, but, would like to read the whole study. I heard Cathy Gauthier mention on the TSN broadcast that the theory of switching sweepers was a theory and never actually proven, so that got me wondering if the Jenkyns study ever got published. I don't like to base my opinions on summary media releases since sometimes the details get overlooked. A good example is the point that states that a sweeper can increase the distance a rock travels. While as curlers we believe that to be true (me too) the Jenkyns study concluded that fact based on mathematical formulas and not actual tests.

It is amusing how little is proven and how much is anecdotal when it comes to sweeping.

Why do teams switch sweepers? Because the other teams do it. Does it work? Maybe...

The force vs. stroke rate is another one. Are you better to sweep faster or better to apply more force, or does it matter? What's the maximum efficiency you can achieve, and when you hit it should you back off to keep some gas in the tank?

All questions with not many answers yet, but there is still research ongoing. More details here:
