Qualifying
I believe this years points and next years are combined for the Olympics. Also the 4 quarter final losers still have to play for positions 5 thru 8 to get the specific points for each position.

Top 7 are making the Olympics after 2017. So, Canada's in good shape, especially if they grab that 5th spot, but they'll need a similar showing to be certain to be in the top 7. Also, those are the only 7 teams (plus Korea) who will be in it. There's no last chance tournament.
One good thing for most countries is that England is also in the 5-8 qualification round. They can't qualify for the Olympics, so it will help countries that had a bad one like Switzerland, Sweden & Hungary, the top 3 teams in the mixed doubles rankings where a podium could do it next year. The higher England finishes, the better it is for those not playing them.

just won Silver at Womens world seniors...
have always admired this curler.. skipped the GER team to bronze in Euros when she was but 15 yrs old
Seven-time European champion (1986, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1998, 2009)
two-time World champion (1988 and 2010) .... 1992 Winter Olympics champion (demo)
Serious Skiing accident in 2012..
She is back curling in World Mixed doubles with her brother
Now with her life Partner Monica Wagner.. led the GER seniors Team to a final..
German womens curling is still struggling to build in a country that pays little attention to curling.
