I'm really curious why the old Team Dunstone split. Was Matt's new team formed first, or did the others decide to part ways with Matt forcing him to find a new team. They seemed to compliment each other very well on the ice.

“I’m very excited about this new squad. All three of them have a lot of experience on tour, and we are all relatively close to the same age,” said Dunstone when reached after announcing his new squad.
Seems a tad contradictory that the other 3 are about the same age as Dunstone (who is 20), and have "a lot of experience on tour"...
I suppose a 20 year old defines "a lot of experience" somewhat differently than one with... uh... more experience...

More fabulous MB curling
Great to see a young team form with plans for a bit of a future together.
After all the patch-work teams thrown together for Olympic cycles
4 year plans etc etc.. maybe there will be some history building with these guys
Brier wins ahead... indeed.. and more..

Colton, Kyle and Robbie still have one more year of juniors. They do have a direct entry to junior provincials so their junior schedule would not interfered much, if any at all, with this team sticking together.
There is certainly more to that story but what happened in the locker room should perhaps stay in the locker room.

I agree with some of the above posters, seems like an odd move for Dunstone to make considering the success his team had last year. Must be more to the story, perhaps off ice issues? Regardless I wish Matt's new team the best of luck.

Or we could make snide, passive-aggressive rumours about the "story" here on CZ, as is tradition!

perhaps its simply a case of the other 3 wanting to focus more on juniors and trying to finally win that world junior title and maybe they didnt want to go as hard as matt obviously does.
will they eventually reconnect? maybe but they both have great teams for next year. jason is a great last rock thrower and matt has found 3 really strong, young guys.

I like these positive comments. Thanks, CZ needed that.
