Midnight Tiebreaker ?

Are they really going to make them play tiebreakers at midnight tonight if necessary ? As posted here...

They did it to the Juniors...much to the consternation of the parents... so they will definitely do it to the adults.

Seems like a lost opportunity, could be some of the most important games of the week and there will be little or no fans there to take it in.

And I guess the next question is ... will TSL be broadcasting if there are games ? Was my $14.95 enough to keep them up past their bedtimes ?

If there was a five way tie for 3rd place on the woman's side how would the tie-breaker work? Since you would need three draws to get down to one team would some teams be eliminated without throwing a rock?

Not sure what the official tiebreaker procedure is because the link the competitor guide is not working the Ontario Curling site.

5 way tie

First it's head to head but very unlikely any of the teams beat all other 4 tied. The cumulative draw to the button scores are then used to break ties. The best of the 5 gets a bye. 2nd plays 5th 3rd plays 4th. Those winners play off and that eventual winner plays team number 1. Very messy indeed.

Not quite. In a 5 way tie, 1st rank does get bye but they play winner of 4v5. 2v3 also play. That way in the "semifinal" you would have 1v4, 2v3.
