Olympic downfall blame the system

Don't blame the curlers, blame the system. Better yet fix the system.

Get rid of the points system which more rewards how many spiels you play in not the quality of play.
The Olympics are about Canadians so no credit for standings from slam events or any event that non- Canadian teams play in should count towards reaching Canadian Olympic trials.

Select our Olympic teams at least a year before the Olympics. Let them play and train to peak for the Olympics not go through a rediculous
Process a month before.

Properly fund the teams just like the rest of the world does. Good salaries for six players per team, training money,
and all expenses and a team manager to take care of travel arrangements. Let teams pick theirs own coach not necessarily a CAC clone coach.

Get CCA and CAC actually working for the good of the sport which means seriously holding back membership. Writing to the sports ministry to hold back funding. Sounds drastic but has long has their salaries are not threatened they won't listen to anyone.

We ask players to represent Canada yet we also ask them to make all the sacrifices. Let's properly support them for a change.

Not going to happen. Too much apathy and the organizations likr CCA and CAC depend on it.

I don't agree with a lot of what you said, but I certainly agree with your statement on the coach. Here we have who I think are the 2 best teams in the world - Homan and Koe. They became the best because of their work ethic and chemistry. They head to the Olympics with coaches and psychologists telling them how to play and how to manage the mental part of the game. Totally counter-productive in my opinion. They've both played and won many high-pressure games. They've learned to handle pressure. Now you've got someone else telling them how to manage pressure, which may be different than they already do. And someone advising Koe on strategy???!! Joke.
