I hope the "Alberta player" isn't the moddy & unpredictable Chels Carey!
Especially Einarson playing 3rd.
Wouldn't mind Einarson skipping, Rocque coming in to play 3rd
Other great lineup would be
Joss Peterman = skip
Einarson - 3rd
Rocque - 2nd
McCuish - lead
But that's 2 Albertans!

Carey is a mystical figure in curling circles. A talented performer to be sure - but moody and unpredictable at all but the best of times (like when she captured her first Canadian title)
Bringing Carey back to Manitoba to skip a team consisting of Kerri Einarson, vice, Leslie Wilson, 2nd & Raunora Westcott, lead would immediately become the #1 seed at next year's Manitoba championship - PLUS a formidable circuit team.
Westcott is a very underrated lead; she was a rock while her skip Englot floundered this year. Wilson looks like a more natural player and she possesses brutal power in her brush but she's no Jill Officer in terms of shot completions. Who is?
Still I'd like that team. Einarson is very easy-going whereas Cathy O. started to insinuate herself into Carey's thought process last season. The only problem is that Einarson is too easy going - Chelsea needs more support.

Every once in a while Chelsey needs to be put in place. Ever heard the statement "I know". Thats Chelsey's constant line when given a thought from her vice. Cathy O is far too good to be ignored and insulted by this 'I'm the skip, remember" woman.

I would think Joss (Peterman) would be a bigger free agent fish than even Sweeting. Val's had her shots - and every time she's reached a big final (STOH twice, MD, once) she's bailed out.
Val is over 30, Peterman is virtually a baby in terms of the ladies scene.
Wonder if everyone is waiting to see what Team Jones does - although by virtue of being Team Canada in 2019 I suspect they'll hold steady.
The elephant in the room, of course is Rachel Homan. Jones & Einarson got lucky this year, facing each other - when in reality the best team in Canada is Homan. Most teams, coaches and jurisdictions know its a tough road to hoe trying to dislodge Homan next season.
But at least some excellent curlers are trying! (ie. Rocque, Peterman, Carey, Lori O, Kleibrink, Einarson, Fleury, Webster, even lower levellers like Crocker & Fyfe & Rachel Brown!

Team Jones will stay together at least one more year...the question is if Birchard will leave her team to be their 5th.
Except for Einarson who said they will finish out the slam season, will the other teams do the same?

Team Jones will stay together because they earned their auto-berth in next yr's STOH - BUT they know winter's coming - and winter's name is Rachel Homan.
Once Homan is on her game - not many woman's teams in Canada can stand up to her - including Jones & Lawes!
But right now - Jones & Lawes are probably the only ones who can put up more than token resistance!

As Team Jones is the #1 team in the World I'm guessing they are also the best team in Canada.
The numbers aren't close, Team Jones have been the runaway leader of the pack all year.
Einarson and Cameron would have the firepower to match any team in the world when it comes to the modern game. I.e. The runback game.
I thought Cathy O and Chelsea got along really well. Super Sub however has no desire to be a full time curler anymore so Chelsea will have to find another Vice.
Watching Laura Crocker in the mixed doubles gave me a lot of appreciation for her game. Can't say I've ever seen her play otherwise as Team Rocque just didn't show up on tv very often. Peterman also really impressed me during the mixed doubles. They were the team I was pulling for, and were the class of the field all week until the semi-final. I can see her moving up to third with Chelsea.
Lauri Olson Johns no doubt wanted to retire and aside from Val maybe the rest of them didn't want to commit to the four year cycle. That's assuming of course that Val wants to make that commitment. Family time is a much bigger issue with the women's game than the men's. Though increasingly less so as we get more egalitarian about such things:-)

Considering Jones probably played twice as many events and games while Homan played a limited schedule going by CTRS points is not a very good indicator which team is better.

Curling doesn't work like this. You don't you just bring in 3 or 4 skips and assume you will have a great team. You need their positions to be based on their attributed skill-sets.

Is this fact or just speculation. If fact, there's way too many skips in the kitchen. (4)

OK OK I was right about Sweeting
But the reveal on the new Team Einarson really was stunning in the curling world . . . .
Einarson is a natural skip - who's almost the female equivalent of Kevin Koe - she doesn't do a lot of talking and too often involves her teammates in decisions.
Val is also a proven skip with 2 STOH runner-ups under her belt plus numerous cash wins and a perennial #2 to #4 team in Canada.
Shannon B prolly decided, based on last year's Manitoba Scotties that her team with Nicole just wasn't good enough to take on Jones (which she won't have to worry about this year) let alone the Kirkness Sisterhood of the Rocks.
Meilleiur is a very good player who's willingness to commit to lead on what instantly becomes Manitoba's #1 seed at next years provincials - and probably the #3 or #4 team in Canada - obviously Jones & Homan are #1/#2.
Also best looking team in curling - but that's another story!

New Team Einarson - I like when the young curlers move to the front end even if they have had success as skips. Yes some can jump right into skipping right out of juniors but for most playing front end is better to start with. I also think this will be nice recharge for Sweeting. This could be my favorite new team!

holy crap. that is one insanely talented team. however this could either work incredibly well and they could become the new dominant force in women's curling.
or this could go terribly wrong. chemistry has to be right. let's also not forget that this is a team of 4 skips joining together to form one super team. outside of meilleur and birchard i don't think any of them ave thrown any position other than skip and shannon only threw third for a week.
will be interesting to watch that's for sure

QUOTE: Team Einarson is excited to announce a new line up for the 2018-19 curling season!
Skip: Kerri Einarson
Third: Val Sweeting
Second: Shannon Birchard
Lead: Briane Meilleur
But they have a Lefty!! Can be a secret weapon. Heh heh.
So... MB based team, I guess - despite Val. Wish them luck.
