As if it weren't hard enough to raise money to build a curling club, in California, we are now competing for warehouse space with pot growers - some of whom are willing to pay a full year's rent up front in cash... SFBACC almost signed a lease on this building, but the landlord thought curling was just too weird, and didn't want to make any investments in the building that we needed... I wonder if they now wish they had gone with the curlers?

Shoulda told the landlord you were starting a grow as a fundraiser for the club and would give him a 5% cut of the profits.

You may have rolled a new way to grow the sport! We have clubs with sand floors, we have clubs with concrete floors, but imagine a club with a weed floor. We would be blessed with mellow skips, sweepers with severe cases of the giggles, and increased munchie revenues. Just passing it along. Let me know when the club opens - I'm in!
