Other playoff contenders are Japan, Russia of course and Denmark. My teams who will not make it are the US (should have sent Brown instead), Finland, Germany and Norway.

bingyu retired, it wasnt someone getting tired of her losing

sweden missing playoffs would be a huge shock but if ghey cant get a win within the first 4 games they will.

if they start 0-4 they would have to run the table and that will be hard with denmark, scotland, switzerland and china still to go

What, she retired at 30 years old, seems odd, maybe that's just what the Fed says, certainly didn't seem the type to retire.

Agree about Sweden.

Maybe Bingyu got tired of Bingyu losing so many times after her world championship, or maybe she heard the biological clock ticking.

Yeah, I guess, they maybe could have tried to move the yellow, but it could have made things worse.

With all the rocks behind it, it wasn't gonna go anywhere.

So they decided not to waste any time looking at it.

Wow, Canada could have really put Scotland right out of it there, but they let them back in instead.

It may have gone somewhere with enough weight, there was a bit of space to move.

Unless she's said she never plans to compete again, I wouldn't count her out. Just look at Ayumi Ogasawara who is just 16 years older than Bingyu and "retired" once, had a child, and roared back into the game.

Watching those two ladies break new ground for their countries' women and curling success, too, has been fun to watch from Bingyu having so many "firsts" to Ayumi having the honor of carrying her country's flag in Sochi.

Just woke up to find Canada has beaten the Scots and is drawing for 3 in the first end against Sweden . It seems team Jones has recovered .

this worlds has been so ..scrappy through the first 3 draws and the quality just isnt there

admittedly sweden was lucky to be down one after 4 but canada is lucky not to be down a couple after 5

After watching the first 5 ends of this game i might need to take back the comment of team Jones recovering...They are lucky the Swedes are playing so poorly.

really both teams are lucky. canada iut played sweden through the first 3 ends and now sweden has been out playing canada.

this is just ugly..hope teams figure things out soon because right now there has not been a single game anywhere this event about who plays the best its been about who plays the least terrible
