the northern ontario men's standings need to be fixed. dylan johnston scored 2 points in the 10th end yesterday in draw to and beat bryan burgess 7-4. the scoreboard on the website is fixed now
johnston 3-0
burgess 1-2
i know..sometimes those scoreboards get the wrong score up and take forever to fix them.

a little note or question on tyler tardi.
tyler and his vice sterling have played a lot of curling this year. they have already played the bc junior mens provincials, bc under 18 provincials, bc mixed double curling championship, the canadian junior mens championship and now are playing in the BC mens championship. thats 5 events already this year. we are only 6 weeks into the year so they have basically played every week of the year. they are due to play world juniors on the 16th. if they make playoff weekend , which is possible in mens provincials that wont be much of a turnaround.
they have played a lot, we dont even see the top teams in the world play this much in such a short period of time.
anyone else think that burnout may soon set in or like it could be a factor at the world juniors for them?
not, that this is not intended to criticize but more of a concern

I doubt it. They've played heavy schedules in the past (last season they did juniors, Youth Olympics (two of them), men's, mixed doubles, and did a whole pile of cash spiels). I can't see burnout being an issue.
Oh and U18 BC Provincials is in mid-March... so they won't play those until after they return from Korea.
They may have a bit of trouble adjusting to the differences in culture heading over to Korea, but they're a well coached team that has a good group of people around them that should help them with that as well.

misty1, actually there is no tiebreaker. CurlingZone has had the wrong score for the Burgess - Johnston game and the wrong standing accordingly. Burgess has one less win (and one more loss) and is not in a tiebreaker.
This morning Al Hackner gave Jacobs his closest game of the provincials but Jacobs won in the 10th. Al needed a win to get into a tiebreaker.

Right, forgot they had yet to fix the standings here
So it's Johnston v.s glibota in the semis
Winner plays jacobs

Trevor loreth is the surprise team to make final 4 this year. Seems like that every year in Manitoba there is a surprise team going deep.
In Alberta the final 4 are sluchinski, appelman, bottcher and Thomas. Nothing really surprising there. I guess maybe lizmore not being final 4 is surprise but, honestly there isn't to much between them and the appelman and sluchinski rinks.
You would expect to see Thomas or bottcherwin but, honestly it wouldn't surprise me to see any of these last 4. Rinks win

Well this is unfortunate. Loreth team just struggling in every possible way. I don't even think McEwen has been that great, there have been opportunities for loreth but they haven't been able to capitalize

while N. Ontario will probably be a mis-match of Gushian proportions!
Johnston did beat Jacobs last year at provincials . not saying it will happen today but this has the potential to be tighter than one might expect

If C. Thomas is an example of a good Alberta skip, Alberta curling is in trouble.

jacobs game is pretty close through 6 but from what i have seen johnston is keeping them in it all by himself. been watching for the last 3 ends and he is getting literally no help from the front 3. jacobs could have another 5 or 6 points right now if not for the skip

Wow Shaw, you have to be kidding me. They were covering the British Columbia semi final and cut coverage short right before joanisse delivered his last rock in 10 in for of some local program. Now back to the semis. So now joanisse missed the double for the win Andi has no idea how

Think he just wanted appelman to be looking at two when he went to throw his las. That way he would be drawing against the loss instead of just a tie

bwhahaha. That would be poetic justice. Then we'd need to hand off coin to read ML's posts... and Freskey's... and to divine action from line scores - if they get updated. Keep us posted about The New Era. I appreciate the free video (NB, NON, SK, NS - but most so-called video is PPV.

Chat on the Joanise/Morris game that is failing to stream via YouTube is that the problem is YouTube. Some parts of Canada are getting the game. Mostly NOT though. You could pay Sportsnet for the Bottcher Appleman game though. heheh.
