Rule Change Experiment - Cover The Pin for Two!

They're experimenting with the rules at the Everest Curling Challenge, making it worth two points to cover the button.

Will change the strategy and open up the game, likely eliminating the need for blank ends as well.

rules

I have been looking all over for the rules of this event. Is cover the pin the only rule, different from other events? I am assuming only 8 end games.

8 ends, regular rules except for the cover the pin rule.

when Epping scored two in the Sweeting game you could see all the pin hole so not sure if the players understand the rule is it the bottom of the rock or the ban that has to be over the pin

I liked the new rule, made it more competitive with close games. It forced teams to be a bit more aggressive and if you had a chance at the pin you could get your multiple points.
