Or, the whole end and Kevin not making the final draw. They were in trouble long before a broken rock.

They have a term for this in football. Freezing out the kicker.
But who did the freezing out?

He was having trouble at the beginning of the week with his draws, and when they showed the stats at the 5th end break, he had thrown 4 draws and was only in the 80's. Final for draws 68%.

His total for the week on draws - 77%.

http://wmcc2019.worldcurling.org/data/CUR_WMCC2019P/Men's_Teams/C84B~Cumulative_Player_Statistics_CAN.pdf?v=15

the link to the stats does not work properly.

Nothing to be ashamed of for getting Silver. The boys have made some incredible shots during this tourney and have had quite a remarkable year considering its their first together.

Yes , tonight was fun getting slaughtered like a pig ... they wasted a year again .. ranks up there with the olympics

Canadians curlers are masochists - lots of foreplay but no finish

You can hear the vomiting in Lethbridge here in Winnipeg

I never even won a heart but I couldn’t watch the last 4 ends because I knew what would happen -

Kennedy is probably trying to figure a way out of his bonehead decision to waste a year ...

The worlds are the nightmare of every competiitive curler in Canada - better to win than explain why you didn’t

Yogi Bear - “ show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser “

I just bought 4 silver medals on eBay for $20 - Benoit sold the bronze to me at 4 - $10

When they nailed the man 2000 years ago he only suffered for 3 days - these guys will wake up screaming for years ..

Have to agree with you on this one... not sure why you would downgrade the second best team in the world... hey, they played great and deserve a nice silver... a lot better than third, fourth or thirteenth.

Wow, the crowds all week were super and the noise made the games nice to watch. I'm sure all the teams enjoyed their time in Lethbridge... I can honestly say I watched some of the best curling and have to admit the game has gone to another level.

Seriously. And this lovely story beats any gold medal, IMO:

Team Koe are ranked #1 in the world. They had an incredible 24 win streak and won the Brier undefeated. Not a wasted year at all in this year of building.

Not exactly. Koe made 68% of inturn draws this week.
Sweepers seemed to jump it right away, although not like it was terribly light, and then backed off for a little bit at mid-ice. That may have been the difference between scoring 1 and giving up 2.

No doubt. But give him credit -- he is not afraid to post idiotic statements. I really like how he cannot stand listening to Edin, though I am sure he has no idea what Edin is saying. We only know for sure that he is NOT saying "that fresca is one bright guy."

It was a great championship -- terrific curling by great teams. Now if curling could only figure out how to make extra ends exciting....

eBAY: Selling. Used curling rock. As-is condition. Some minor repairs needed. Previously used at major curling competition.
No reasonable offer refused.

Team Kudini (Koe) knew they were in tough with Sweden last night.

Particularly in the middle of the lineup - Flash is an emerging superstar at 2nd but there's no way he'll outcurl his more experienced and nuanced Swedish opponent.

Likewise, BJ isn't quite up there in the rareified air occupied by Oskar and few others. Late in the game BJ came down with the McJeebies - where precise rock placement looked to be an impossible task.

Nik Edin was irrirated early by giving up a potentiallly game controlling steal to Koe - and spent the rest of the game dedicated to regaining said control. Took him awhile but eventually he was able to break Koe.

No shame in Silver. A nice job vs. a tough field. Don't know if Jacobs, Bottcher, Gushue could have done any better - or even hung in there as long as Koe did, before succumbing . . . .

Team Koe will be a threat for as long as Kevin continues to carry their water. BJ emerged from the shadow of Team McJeebies (McEwen) to emerge as a top level 3rd. Flash needs a bit more seasoning but is obviously top level (and one of the best brushers in the sport) and everyone knows Benny is Benny - a lead of the highest level - and probably the architect of bringing in Beej & Flash after last year's defections!

We forget that for 2 of these players it was their first time at a major international event (juniors and slams don't count). Koe did well to get them to the finals, but he could only do so much. That 12 minute delay didn't help. Maybe a more experienced second or third may have reminded skip the ice could be a bit slower.

I have to agree I don't think Jacobs, Bottcher or Gushue could have done any better.

Interesting during TCs 9th end time out that Ben stayed down at hack end and said to Apelman as he walked by "got nothing". Meaning what? nothing to say? no shot for Kevin to get out of trouble?
Not important but I do like TCs professional look that all our teams display- shirts tucked in, belts. Some of the teams look like they just stepped off the bowling lanes,

I was lucky enough to take in many of the games and must say the skill level for this one was the highest ever... which might be due to the ice conditions, but it was extremely high.

Hey, good the boys got the silver as you just never know when playing against such hi cal teams... next time they could win, next time they could fini tenth and next time they get silver... it all depends on one shot or maybe two at the most in these close games. And the breaks as well... like when have you seen a five min break to fix a handle... then both skips having to throw critical shots... and we all know what it would be like throwing a draw when the ice sits idle.

I put this championship down as the best Men's worlds... teams, crowds and ice.

For sure a draw to the button against two is much more difficult that the double Edin had to throw in that situation. I know Russ Howard is a step behind as an analyst for the game at the highest level, BUT he made it seem like Edin could even miss the first rock for the double. And his story about how that rock would be too warm and should not even be used sounded like someone a little out of touch with things. Edin just had to not rush his shot once the rock was repaired and he did not and threw it fine because for a world class curler it was not a really tough double. Even Vic piped in after the break and thought Koe's shot would be more difficult given the delay. Sorry Russ I used to think you were awesome as an analyst when you started with TSN but please acknowledge that other teams besides Canada can and even should beat us especially the full time curling team from Sweden. I agree with previous posters that no one else from Canada would have beat Edin this year and maybe for a few years in the future. KK got Canada as far as he could but could not get that last game.

I was surprised at Ben's comments and action. Like he had given up. Should have showed more support.
