Don't be deceived by the close 7-6 score. Jacobs totally controlled a very good Chinese squad this afternoon. Actually, pulled a Homan/Bernard goof in the 9th end where he had a short little double to snuff out Lui for good. But he came out a sliver wide and let Lui steal one. That said, Jacobs was still 2 up coming home.
Had he not Homanned that short double he'd have curled 100%.

I'm really looking forward to see how Scotland manages to withstand the Jacobs assault!

This game was not close. Canada was in control all game. The final score was not indicative of the game at all.

Agreed. China never looked like they were in the game. Now, all Canada has to do is dominate the Scots just as much...

yeah it seemed that way didn't it?

yes certainly Canada's team will have to bring their "A' game to the rink when playing those Scots later this evening, ( really late here in Atlantic Canada) but if I can stay up for the entire 10 ends, and you will have to stay up until the end I am certain

Canada v. Scotland match is only game where Canada doesn't have clear advantage at 3rd/skip combo.

Murdoch can go toe to toe with Brad.

Tommy B. is every bit Fry's equal - maybe even a tad better (due to extensive skipping experience)

Thus, it will fall to the front end. Harnden Gang (Arnold & The Rock) will have to give the Scottish front end a severe thrashing in order for their back end to dominate.

My guess is we're in for a great game - at least 7 or 8 ends until someone is forced to "GO FOR BROKE".

I think the tourney started for B Jacobs when Finny hung him up for '4 Little Eggs in a Blanket'.... he realized the world teams weren't gonna go into a fetal position like Jeff Stoughton did at the Brier.

Of course, a couple ends later, the Finns died!

HOPE THOSE Danes tire out the Scots before...

they play Canada later this evening, and should they 'upset' Murdoch well it will be just fine for Jacobs and the boys from the Sooooo. but seeing their playing in the 10 end with Scotland leading....

Obviously, injury first comes to mind!

However, YGD (Young Greg Drummond) is one of the finest natural thirds in the world while Tom Brewster is a natural skip. Perhaps the Scottish authorities had a sudden awakening and realized this!

More elaboration to come in approx. 10 minutes as I'm sure Inspector Victor will get to the bottom of the mystery!!!

Read in the daily event paper that sitting Brewster for that game was the plan all along as the Scottish coach plans to rotate everyone but Murdoch throughout the week.

Thanks for apologizing for the gaffe Victor.

Watching Brewster and Murdoch conspiring on the tee is kinda eery. Imagine Martin with Glenn Howard or Jeff Stoughton with Kevin Koe?

Just looked at the linescores for the first time, and was surprised to discover that through the 14 games of the first 4 rounds, 8 games have been decided by a single point, 3 more were decided by only two points, while only 3 games have been decided by more than two points. While it's early in the week, those stats might suggest there is more parity at the Worlds than ever before...
