Tsn all star curling skins game

Why is this spiel not covered/included on this seemingly all inclusive curling site,?

Because as discussed in the past this site is affiliated/co-owned/owned by Sportsnet. Too bad really that they would be that petty not to post it. As I've said before, they'll post the under 15 mixed doubles for the blind from Lithuania, but nothing from TSN.

I would think by actually posting the scores, you'd bring more eyes to the site, and more hits to your advertisers sites, more money. Isn't always about the money?

That is really petty and very backwards. Yeah if you're going to feature obscure spiels, it'd be a smart move to also feature well known ones like this to draw people to the page. I now I sound salty when I say this, but it's up there with the idea someone had to "grow the sport" by reducing the game to 6 ends (why not 5 innings for baseball and a 6 furlong race for the Kentucky Derby?).

i'm not suggesting that CZ should be burned to the ground or anything but there is room for improvement. I for one am fond of the WCF format for scoring, with its self refreshing. I understand it could be complicated/expensive to set up but a format that I would like to see more of.

Just noticed that if the skins is excluded from this site because it is TSN, all major spiels, Scottie’s, Tim Horton, worlds etc are all on TSN and does that mean they will excluded from this site? Something doesn’t add up.

Back to the curling game and away from the griping game - - -

Gushue made his finest shot in years on the 8th end to salvage the final skin and $5k for his squad - but in a losing effort to Bren Bottcher

Bottcher was every bit Goo's superior last night.

Goo appeared slightly off form, same with Mark.

Suspect their next few weeks will be getting prepped for an important Brier.

In Brandon - Goo becomes the first Canadian team to attempt 3 straight Brier victories in many years. Anyone remember the last team to win 3 straight Briers?

Maybe Alberta and the Ferbey four.

Ferbey 4 won 01, 02, 03 - had 04 in the bag until they relaxed and had their velcro gloves on half-snap when Mark Dacey & the old professor Bruce Lohnes crushed the Ferbey dream for 4 in a row. Ferbey came back the next year to snag his 4th, beating legendary Maritimes curler Grizzly "Sean" Adams in the final.

Ferbey era also called the asterisk era as a few top level competitive teams decided to withdraw from competition. (like Kevin Martin)

Lots of focus on Brandon because the Ferbey accomplishment has never been matched. Ernie Richardson snagged 4 - but in 5 years - 59, 60, 62, 63. Was stopped in Sask'n by Jack Keyes in 61, Ernie also won Sask in 64 but was toppled at Brier by Lyall Dagg (BC)

Gushue would be amazing 3 in a row - #1 he's only 38, #2 there's no asterisk era.

Monsters lurk. Koe, Jacobs, Howard, Bottcher

Now that was a curling battle! More interesting of a game than last night's, imo. Liked that they showed Kev's wife and kids, that was cute.

While the score reflects a blowout, it was everything but. McEwen was within an inch or two in 3 or 4 last rocks and were that close to cashing in. It’s a shame that somebody had to lose given the shot making of both skips. Biggest disappointment would be McEwen coming away with no money to cover expenses.

Pretty sure jones rock at top of four was shot

Y wouldn’t they have measured both blues and yellow ?

It’s free to measure
Especially when they junk up the rings with advertising

I suspect JJ's friends, family told her she looked tight, distraught & angry during the first half of the season.

At least vs. Scheidegger she put on a more relaxed persona - neither Casey nor her were particularly sharp. Both actually trying to give skins to the other.

Fleury ain't Homan, far from it but her more conservative and controlled game might be enough to topple Jones and grab the skins championship.

Fleury's ultra-pleasant personality and great team chemistry weren't quite enough to topple rambunctious JJ.

JJ won her 3rd straight skins title - prolly curling under 50% and making a bunch of groaner call or line errors.

Don't think Homan is quivering with the thought of playing either of these teams.

Scheidegger & Carey (Alberta teams) are prolly the only ones who can stand up to Rachel - at least for a few ends . . . ! ! !

Was rooting for the Koedog to take it, but glad Jennifer Jones won. Nice tuneup for both teams for Scottie's/provincials.

Great day for curling.

Super Bowl Sunday curling!

Team Fleury will acquit themselves well at STOH. What we learned is that Tracy is a draw ace - can hit fairly well but not her specialty. Reminds me of Kelly Scott but with a personality.

Team JJ - always there, it seems. Although you won't get it out of her with a kilo of sodium pentothol JJ is striggling to hit the stick, get the ice right and super-struggles with weight & line calls - refuses to abdicate to Kaitlyn Lawes. Too bad, if this group doesn't make STOH playoffs - from lead to 3rd they might be a tad better than Team Homan. Only problem is that Rachel far more clinical than JJ, far better hitter, much better on line calls & weight. If JJ's percentages were as good as her impeccable strategy she might win 3 or 4 more.

Scheidegger - slipped into the final wild card. Can she topple Einarson? Of course she can. Einarson is very toppable! Still struggling with an overall philosophy and gameplan. Val not really much of an improvement over Selena.

Carey - if she can get on her game and not get rattled or out-of-sorts early she could go down to the event's final stone.

McCarville - slipped by Jenna Enge in N. Ont. today - 2 down late in game - but she stuck to her guns and will rep. Mentally stronger than most in the field - wonder if Ashley Sippala will make the event or if she's awol? Anyone know?

Silvernagle - my dark horse entry to upset Homan - if there's anyone that can do it.

Homan - just slaps opponents with far too many 80s & 90s that make it nigh on impossible to stay with Rachel.

Curling better than Super Bowl.

Game first half boring

Half time show brutal and crude enuf they have to cut sentences out

Should rename it Cotton Bowl

Russ howard

Hate to admit but watching replay of skins.

WAAAAAAY too politically correct, when someone misses a shot, say so. Let me quote "Oh that didn't curl as much as he wanted to"

Really? He threw it 2 feet wide!!

Tell it like it is man!
