Hamiltons to Appear on Tonight Show
Hamiltons to Appear on Tonight Show Fresh off winning the Mixed Doubles Curling Trials, the sibling team of Becca and Matt Hamilton appear Thursday on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The siblings from McFarland, Wisconsin, were named to the 2018 U.S. Olympic Team last month in Omaha after winning the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling with their respective men's and women's teams. With the 6-5 win at Fogerty Arena over Cory Christensen (Duluth, Minn.) and John Shuster (Superior, Wis.), the Hamiltons will now have a chance to make the podium twice in PyeongChang. The trip to New York city to appear on The Tonight Show was setup due to the partnership of NBC as the Olympic broadcaster and the boost to curling and the profile of the athletes. The show will air Thursday at 11:35pm ET/10:35CT. The win make the Hamiltons the only curlers to appear at both the Mixed Doubles and Four-Play Team event in the upcoming Olympic games in South Korea. "This is something you dream about your entire life. To be able to come out on top in two separate events is a Christmas miracle and we're really excited," Matt Hamilton said. Becca, 27, plays lead for Nina Roth's team while Hamilton, 28, is second for John Shuster's Olympic team. Christensen, 23, is the alternate on Roth's rink. "I don't even think the first win has fully set in. It doesn't really set in. Maybe when I get on the plane and head over there it'll set in. To put this on top of it is unreal. I just know I have the best little sister in the world and the best little curler in the world," Matt Hamilton said. |
