(Nov 30, 2008) -- As Team Mallett shook the hands of Team Clark to end the first VCC Ladies Totem Cashspiel, it was clear that the event was a success. The idea of this event was to provide the competitive Ladies teams in BC with another opportunity to compete and earn valuable CTRS points. This idea was started at the BC Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Trail last January and we were pleased to see 6 of the 8 teams in that event had athletes participating in our event this year.
To say that we appreciate the support of these athletes and their teams is an understatement!
In future years, we intend to grow the event as the Vancouver Curling Club moves into the Olympic Legacy facility after the 2010 Games are completed and the building retrofitted. By then, we expect the Ladies Totem Cashspiel to be a major stop for BC teams (as well as guests from outside of BC)
