(Nov 24, 2008) -- WINNIPEG, November 24, 2008 – The Local Organizing Committee for the BDO Classic Canadian Open reminded curling fans today that the deadline to take advantage of early bird pricing for the third leg of the men’s 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling series is Monday, December 1, 2008.
Individuals who purchase early bird ticket packages by December 1st will have an opportunity to save nearly 25 per cent off the tournament’s regularly priced seats.

Scheduled to take place at the MTS Centre from January 21-25, 2009, the BDO Classic Canadian Open will feature Canada’s top skips including World Champions Glenn Howard (Coldwater, Ont.), Kevin Martin (Edmonton, Alta.), Randy Ferbey (Edmonton, Alta.), Wayne Middaugh (Midland, Ont.), Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, Man.), Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, Man.), Greg McAulay (Richmond, B.C.) and Olympic gold medallist Brad Gushue (St. John’s, Nfld.).
An elite, annual Canadian curling event, the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling is a series of eight men’s and women’s events that feature this nation’s deepest and strongest curling fields.
The Capital One Grand Slam of Curling events are closely tied to the Canadian Curling Association's qualifying process for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. Through their performance in the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling events, rinks can earn a significant amount of points towards securing a berth at the 2009 Canadian Trials.
