(Nov 10, 2008) -- CBC Sports to air live playoff coverage of the men’s first 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling event
WATERLOO, ONT., November 10, 2008 – On Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16, Championship Curling on CBC will air live playoff coverage of the Masters of Curling, the first leg of the men’s 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling series.
As the official television broadcaster of the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling, CBC will air the event’s quarterfinals live on CBC Television on Saturday, November 15 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Later that evening, CBC’s digital channel bold will air live coverage of the tournament’s semi-finals, beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The finals of the Masters of Curling will be shown live on CBC Television on Sunday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
CBC Sports will also provide live broadband coverage of all playoff draws, exclusively at www.cbcsports.ca/curling.
As part of its exclusive agreement, CBC will air live playoff coverage of the first three men’s 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling events. CBC will also broadcast the men’s and women’s finals of the 2009 Players’ Championship, the eighth and final 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling event.

Held annually since 2001-02, the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling is a series of eight high-profile men’s and women’s events that feature Canada’s deepest and strongest curling fields.
Through their performance in the Capital One Grand Slam events, teams can earn a significant amount of points towards securing a berth at the 2009 Canadian Trials.
