In 1995, the World Curling Players Association was incorporated as a Non-Share Capital Corporation under Part II of the Canada Corporations Act. The first directors of the corporation were: Kerry Burtnyk, Kevin Martin, Randy Woytowich, John Base, Mark Noseworthy and Rob Krepps.
Players' Advisory Council
Paul Boutilier President / VP Atlantic
Brent Pierce VP West
Bruce Korte VP Saskatchewan
Coming Soon VP Manitoba
Peter Steski VP Central
Kevin Martin Past President
The initial outlined objections of the Association were to promote the sport of curling and to work in the best interest of competitive curlers by providing meaningful membership benefits (i.e.: membership cards, regular newsletters, input on key issues, etc.), and by actively lobbying various organizations on its members behalf.
In 1999, a new Players Advisory Council (P.A.C.) was established by way of a national member vote. Vice-Presidents representing 5 different regions in Canada as well as one in Europe will each serve 2 year terms on a rotational basis.

Description:
The main goal that we try to reach is to raise the overall quality of the tournaments. Until last season, there were too many small bonspiels which were not able to attract the top teams and therefore had to fill the open spots with local teams.
The five tournaments are now spread evenly across Europe, making our Tour less centered in Switzerland. We are truly becoming a European Tour! We hope, that many teams will take the opportunity to travel abroad and visit competitions they haven’t played before. The increased profit possibilities should make that decision an easy one.

Description:
The MCT is celebrating it's 11th year. The Tour was started in the summer of 1991 by a committee which was co-chaired by Kerry Burtnyk and Mark Olson.
The intention of the Tour is coordinate, promote and serve as an umbrella organization for cashspiels in Manitoba, as well as one bonspiel in Kenora, Ontario and one in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Separate men's and women's divisions were added in the 1996-97 season. Then in the 1999-2000 season the Manitoba Curling Association allocated a berth in the Safeway Select, the provincial men's curling championship, to the men's Tour champion each year.
The annual Tour championship is held each season in early February, where both men's and women's champions are crowned
