Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG) finished 3-5 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Chang defeated Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ) 7-4, then went on to lose 10-3 against Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN). Chang responded with a 13-3 win over Nassar Alyafei (Doha, QAT). Chang went on to lose 10-6 against SooHyuk Kim (Seoul, KOR). Chang lost 10-6 to Scott Becker (Naseby, NZL). Chang lost 8-3 to Randie Shen (Taipei, TPE) where Chang responded with a 10-4 win over Jay Merchant (Sydney, AUS). Chang went on to lose 13-2 against Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Chang earned 4.008 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 141 spots the World Ranking Standings into 314th place overall with 4.786 total points. Chang ranks 220th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.008 points earned so far this season.
