Benj Guzman (Wayland, MA) is set to play Bill Stopera (Ardsley, NY) in the Final of the GNCC Mens Club Playdowns, held December 14 - 17, 2017 at the The Country Club in Brookline Village, United States.

Guzman finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Guzman defeated Patrick Coburn (Plainfield, NJ) 13-2, then went on to lose 10-7 against Dan Machold (Schenectady, NY). Guzman responded with a 7-6 win over Michael Stefanik (Schenectady, NY). Guzman won 8-3 against Machold, then won 11-6 against Daniel Simard (Wayland, MA) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Guzman did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Guzman ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
