Fleming finished 5-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fleming defeated Tova Sundberg (Ostersund, SWE) 6-3, then won 7-6 against Jackie Lockhart (Edinburgh, SCO) and 7-1 against Susan Kesley (Perth, SCO). Fleming won 7-1 against Gail Thomson (Perth, SCO), then won 7-3 against Daniela Jentsch (F�ssen, GER) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the CCT City of Perth Ladies International Championship title, Fleming earned 28.229 world rankings points along with the $7,184CDN first prize cheque.
